Plot outline
One of the biggest housing projects in Germany is located on the spot where the famous “Sportpalast” used to stand, where Max Schmeling fought and Joseph Goebbels demanded total war. Five hundred fourteen units, more than two thousand inhabitants, modern housing. Known for a long time as the “Sozialpalast” (social palace) it had a reputation for crime, vandalism and drugs.
Many perspectives on one place. Past and present, planners and inhabitants, a failed utopia, a residential machine. A film about time and coincidence.
